Spring League 2010

FEATURES & NEW ENHANCEMENTS:

League increased to 8 weeks allowing it to be claimed for the Children's Fitness Tax Credit (those 16 or younger)

Coaches and Players PLEASE REGISTER HERE

All coaches must have a criminal check to coach in the SMBA. Those coaches that coached in the winter session will not have to have one completed. The fee will be covered by the SMBA. Please do not go down to the police station until you have been assigned a team or you will have to pay the cost for the check.

There will also be a coaching meeting/clinic on Sunday April 11, 2010 that will be mandatory for all coaches to attend.

Jerseys can be picked up at the coaches meeting/clinic on April 11.

Fees

Early Registration Fees Received by February 22, 2010

New Players to the Spring League the fee is $80 (this includes a SMBA reversible)

Players that have a SMBA reversible from a previous Spring League the fee is $60

Fees Received after February 22, 2010

New Players to the Spring League the fee is $105 (this includes a SMBA reversible)

Players that have a SMBA reversible from a previous Spring League the fee is $85  

The SMBA Spring League will start on April 12 and run until June 1, 2010

Fees must be paid by February 22, 2010 in order to get the discount.
No one will be guaranteed a spot after the registration deadline of February 22, 2009

Tentavie Schedule

There are Boys and Girls Teams For the Following Age Groups:

Grade 4 and 5
Grade 6 and 7
Grade 8 and 9
Grade 10 and 11

The league offers an honorarium for coaching. You can register an entire team (i.e.Your child and his/her friends) and players may be added to the teams to a maximum of 12. Coaches must follow the SMBA Fair Play Code (see the web site) and are responsible to the SMBA. Players will be placed on a team if not registered by an individual coach.· High school gyms will be used as much as possible for practices and games. Younger age groups may have to practice at elementary schools.· If possible, younger age groups will have the early practice times.· Games will be played 5 on 5 with referees.

Players must provide their own basketball.
Basketball Sizes: Mini will use size 5, Bantam, Midget Girls, and Juvenile Girls use size 6, Midget and Juvenile Boys use size 7

Days for Practices and Games

Each team will have Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday sessions

6:00 - 7:15, 7:15 - 8:30, and 8:30 to 9:45.

The league will use FIBA rules with no zones or zone presses and baskets set at 10 feet. The SMBA philosophy for the Spring League is that every player will get equal playing time. Teams must provide their own basketballs.

SMBA Refund Policy:
Prior to the start of the program: Registration fees will be refunded less a $20 Administration Charge. There will be no refund once the program starts.
